Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 22, 2026
Idle Fairy Tree ("the Game") is developed by Simon Bucher ("we", "us", "our"). This policy describes what information the Game collects, what it is used for, and where it goes.
In short: the Game has no account and never asks who you are. Your tree is saved on your own device. The Game sends anonymous usage statistics to analytics services so that we can see how it is played, and on Android it reports the install to Meta so that we can tell whether our ads work. It does not collect your precise location or any payment details. On Android it reads your advertising identifier, which Android lets you reset or delete at any time.
1. What the Game Does Not Collect
- No account, no name, no email address, no phone number. The Game never asks for any of them.
- No contacts, photos, files or precise location.
- No tracking across apps on iOS: the Game never asks for permission to track you, so Apple's advertising identifier is not available to it.
- No payment details. The Game currently contains no in-app purchases and no advertising. Should that change, this policy will be updated first.
The Game does not need an internet connection to be played.
2. Information We Collect
- Game progress — your tree, its levels, managers and gold, and the time of your last visit, stored locally on your device. It is not uploaded anywhere and is deleted with the Game.
- Usage statistics — anonymous events about how the Game is played: the app starting and stopping, a branch bought, a manager hired, a tutorial hint completed, the length of a play session and what happened in it, the earnings credited after time away, and whether your saved tree could be read or written when the Game started or saved, each with the state of the tree at that moment (levels, managers, gold, time played). These are used in aggregate to understand how far players get and where they stop.
- Device information — device model, operating system version, language, app version, and an approximate location (country or region) derived from the network address of the request, as the analytics services determine it.
- Per-install identifiers — random identifiers generated by the analytics services on your device, plus, on iOS, Apple's identifier for vendor. They tell one installation from another; they do not identify you. On Android, the Google advertising identifier as well: Google Analytics collects it, and the install report to Meta described below includes it. You can reset or delete it at any time in Android's settings (Privacy › Ads); once deleted, the Game reads a string of zeros.
- Install measurement (Android only) — when the Game is installed and launched, the install and the launch are reported to Meta Platforms with the device model, operating system version and language, an anonymous identifier of Meta's own and the Google Play install referrer, so that Meta can tell whether the install came from one of our ads. The advertising identifier is included, so that Meta can match the install to the ad.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To save and restore your tree on your device.
- To understand, in aggregate, how the Game is played and to improve its balance and stability.
- To measure the results of our advertising (Android only).
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to build a profile of you.
4. Data Storage & Retention
Your game progress stays on your device. Usage statistics and device information are processed by Google Analytics for Firebase (Google) and by GameAnalytics (GameAnalytics ApS), each retaining them according to Google's and GameAnalytics' own policies. On Android, the install and launch events are processed by Meta Platforms under Meta's privacy policy. These providers operate servers outside Switzerland, including in the European Union and the United States.
The app store you installed the Game from (Apple App Store or Google Play) also processes data about downloads, crashes and ratings under its own privacy policy, independently of us.
5. Third-Party Services
The Game uses the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:
6. Children's Privacy
The Game is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us so that we can delete it.
7. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data. Because the Game has no account, the data described above is not linked to your name or email address: deleting the Game removes your progress and the identifiers stored on your device, and for anything held by the analytics services, contact us and we will ask them to delete what is tied to your installation.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with a new effective date.
